About the Artist
Brought up on a steady diet of Rush, Radiohead, and Linkin Park, Luke developed a passion for music that could not be satisfied by listening alone. He started banging out beats on a toy drum kit he got for Christmas as a kid, and graduated to a real one in high school. He brought the kit to college where he and his housemates jammed in their spare room. His percussion work, inspired by both classic Neil Peart lines and deep Supertask breaks, has since been the heartbeat of his productions.
As a house DJ and producer, Luke continued exploring drum lines under the alias The Curator. Obsessed with creating music, and frustrated with the limitations of the genre, he taught himself to play guitar and used it to push his music beyond the traditional bounds of EDM.
After learning the tools to record and produce, he sets forth as a writer and vocalist, embedding an honest guitar sound into his characteristically technical beats. Almost Home captures the simultaneous feelings of comfort and yearning for more. In our lives, the destination is always moving. Once we find comfort in one decision, it’s on to the next one. Almost Home is a catalog of these feelings—it explores anxious dread, but also habitual relief.
